Welcome to the official website for the Preliminary Design Study and Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) for improvements to Highway 60 in the following two sections:

Section #1
Highway 60 / Highway 11 interchange to Muskoka Road 3.
Section #2
Muskoka Road 23 to Highway 35.

The study limits of Highway 60 are located in the Town of Huntsville and the Township of Lake of Bays, within the District Municipality of Muskoka. The study will identify operational and capacity needs, evaluate alternatives, and recommend a plan for improvements to Highway 60 within the study limits.

McCormick Rankin Corporation has been retained by the Ministry of Transportation, Northeastern Region, to undertake this project.

Project Update

Public Information Centre (PIC) #2 took place on Saturday, June 24, 2011 and Sunday, June 25, 2011 to present the analysis and evaluation of alternatives and the preliminary design of the preferred alternative that will address the future needs of Highway 60 within the study area.
