Public Consultation
MTO is committed to an extensive consultation program, one that actively engages and involves members of the public, non-government organizations (NGOs), municipalities, First Nations and Aboriginal groups, regulatory agencies, businesses and industry. As such, the Project Team welcomes comments regarding the Highway 60 Improvements project. All comments received, with the exception of personal information, will become part of the public record.
Initial Notification
Notification of project commencement was announced through a notice advertised in the Huntsville Forester on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 and published on this website. External agencies, Aboriginal groups, municipalities and emergency services were notified of the project commencement through direct mail.
Public Information Centres
External agency and public consultation will take place throughout the study, including two rounds of Public Information Centres (PICs). The PICs will provide the public and interest groups an opportunity to discuss the study with members of the project team and to provide comments.
Public Information Centre #1
The first PIC occurred on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the Hidden Valley Resort (Highland Ballroom). The PIC provided the public and interest groups an opportunity to review and comment on the study background, need and justification, preliminary development of alternatives, and the proposed evaluation criteria.
